Specialist Support Through Ontario Telemedicine Network

The DRDH provides access to the Ontario Telemedicine Network (OTN) to help deliver clinical care and distance education among healthcare professionals and patients using live two-way videoconferencing systems and related equipment.

• Telemedicine provides timely access to specialists throughout Ontario.
• Telemedicine reduces travel time and expenses.
• Telemedicine delivers care closer to home.

The DRDH Telemedicine clinic and OTN complies with the requirements of the Personal Health and Information Protection Act, 2004.

Referral for Telemedicine:

• Ask your physician if your referral to a specialist is suitable for telemedicine.
• Ask your specialist if he/she uses telemedicine.
• The physician/specialist contacts the telemedicine coordinator to arrange the appointment.

• Cardiology
• Respirology
• Dermatology
• Pediatrics
• Mental Health

Access to other specialists may be  available upon request.
