What is the Foundation?

The Deep River and District Hospital Foundation was formed to ensure that funds received are used exclusively for the benefit of the Deep River and District Hospital.

The Foundation is a volunteer committee comprised of representatives from the Town of Deep River, the Town of Laurentian Hills, and the United Townships of Head, Clara and Maria.

Mission Statement

The Foundation’s mission is to sustain and improve the high level of patient care at the Deep River and District Hospital through financial support for capital requirements.

Why We Need Your Support

Since 1974, the Deep River and District Hospital has been providing quality health care services for Deep River and surrounding communities. The Hospital has always been proud to offer quality patient care while keeping up with the rapid progress of medical technology.

The Deep River and District Hospital must have financial resources to continually upgrade and maintain its facilities and services to meet the increasing demands of community. The Government does not fund all our health care requirements and, as a result, our Hospital must look to the community for financial support, as we continually need to upgrade and replace equipment.

All donations made to the Deep River and District Hospital Foundation are to be used to purchase Diagnostic, Medical and Patient Equipment, or to improve the Hospital Building, Service Equipment and Infrastructure at the Deep River and District Hospital.

Given these facts, you can be certain that any gift, large or small, will enhance the financial security of the Deep River and District Hospital, enabling it to handle today’s needs as well as plan for the future. Your gift may one day benefit a loved one.

How You Can Support the Foundation

There are several ways that you can support your Hospital Foundation:

• Outright Gifts

Include the Foundation on your list of regular charitable giving.

• Memorial Giving

It’s a thoughtful way to help. Increasingly, people are giving to charity in lieu of flowers at the time of the passing of a loved one.

Families and individuals can indicate their wish to provide memorial gifts to the Deep River and District Hospital Foundation to the Funeral Director, and details will be looked after for you. We will let the family know about each gift and the donor will receive recognition as well as a tax receipt.

• Planned Giving

Planned giving broadens the options for donors to the Deep River and District Hospital Foundation. There are several choices available:

· Bequests by Will
· Gifts of Life Insurance
· Gifts of Real Estate
· Special Trust or Annuities

If you have an interest, we recommend you discuss the idea with your personal, legal or financial advisors. We would be pleased to meet with you to provide assistance.

We’re Available to Clubs and Organizations

Clubs and Organizations play an important role through their many contributions to the Foundation. We are always pleased to present a program at any club meeting or to work with a local organization in raising funds in support of our local health facility.

Special Events/Campaigns

From time to time the Foundation may sponsor community events or undertake special appeals. Your support of these activities will ensure their success.
