The Deep River and District Hospital will process requisitions for x-rays, ultrasound etc., regardless of where the physician who ordered your test is located. After the test is completed, we provide the physician (in Ottawa, Pembroke or elsewhere) with a written report. Tell your physician you prefer to have the testing done locally. The DRDH Diagnostic Imaging (DI) department implemented the Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS) in June 2008. This means all the x-rays and ultrasound exams are digital and are stored on computers. This will allow us in the near future to join into a DI-repository in the Champlain LHIN. The area hospitals in the LHIN will then have viewing access to all of our images and reports.
