Patients must have a signed requisition from a registered physician for any laboratory tests. Results will be sent directly to the ordering physicians office, either by courier, mail or fax. Results cannot be given directly to you or to another physician, unless we receive written instructions to do so. Most of the laboratory tests are performed on-site, (usually the same day), and we have made arrangements with referral laboratories for tests not on our license. Specific containers are available through the laboratory for specialized tests. The Deep River and District Hospital will process requisitions for blood work, x-rays, etc., regardless of where the physician who ordered your test is located. After the test is completed, we provide the physician (in Ottawa, Pembroke or elsewhere) with a written report. Tell you doctor you prefer to have the testing done locally. Manager, Laboratory Services Hours of Operation: • Monday to Thursday 7:30 am to 12 pm and 4 to 6 pm Appointments: We use a numbering system to treat all of our patients fairly and efficiently.
