Food and Nutrition Supervisor

Duties:

Plans, directs and supervises all personnel, programs and operations of the Nutrition and Food Services Department.

Assists in preparation of annual operating and capital budget.

Maintains appropriate level of equipment, inventory of food supply and cleaning products for the Department.

Ensures maintenance of quality standards in all aspects of operation.

Provides supervision, leadership and direction to departmental staff.

Works with Manager of Operations, Director of Care and Registered Dietitian in menu planning and in maintaining operational standards identified by licensing bodies and public organizations.

Adheres to all policies and procedures.

Supports and demonstrates the mission, vision and values of the organization.

Other duties may be assigned and may not be limited to the scope of an individual department.

 

Qualifications:

A member of the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management (CSNM) or Registered Dietitian as per the Long-Term Care Homes Act, 2007 required.

Knowledge of the Long-Term Care Homes Act, 2007, preferred.

Management experience in food production in a health care setting preferred.

Experience with provincial long-term care requirements preferred.

Demonstrated commitment to patient safety required.

Excellent attendance record required.

Computer literacy and experience with electronic documentation required.

Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving abilities required.

Exemplary interpersonal, communication and organizational skills required.

Must agree to adhere to DRDH standards of behaviour.
