Admissions & Moving In

As you prepare to move into Four Seasons Lodge long-term care home, we want to ensure that your transition is as smooth and comfortable as possible. From your very first day, our team is here to support you and your family every step of the way.

Admission Process

Admissions to Four Seasons Lodge are coordinated through Ontario Health atHome. Once a space is offered and accepted, our team will work closely with you to arrange a move-in date and help prepare for your arrival.

In advance of your move-in date, you’ll receive a Resident Admission Agreement that outlines your rights and responsibilities as a resident, as well as the services included in your accommodation. This includes details about:

  • What care and services are provided as part of the room rate
  • Additional optional services and associated fees
  • The responsibilities of both the resident (or substitute decision-maker) and the home

We encourage you and your family to review this information carefully. Our team is available to answer any questions and to help complete the required documents.

Moving In & the First Few Days

The move-in day is often busy and emotional. To help make it easier, each new resident and their family are warmly welcomed by our Director of Care, who will accompany you to your room and introduce you to the care team.

During your first few days, you will meet several members of our team, including the following:

  • Nursing and medical team members, who will take your vital signs and review your current medications
  • Dietary team members, who will ask about your dietary needs and preferences
  • Environmental services team members, who will inspect any electrical appliances for safety
  • Housekeeping and laundry team members, who will explain how your room is cleaned and how your clothing will be cared for

We make every effort to get to know your routines and preferences, including preferred bath days, wake times, and other aspects of daily life.

What to Bring

We ask that residents bring all current medications with them on move-in day so that our clinical team can complete a full medication reconciliation. You should also bring personal items that will help you feel at home, such as the following:

  • Comfortable clothing (all clothing will be labeled by our staff)
  • Toiletries and personal care items
  • Photos, books, or small décor items
  • Approved electrical items (which will be safety checked upon arrival)

For more information about what to bring, visit our Before Arriving page.

Resident Agreement

You will receive a Resident Admission Agreement on or before move-in day. This document outlines the following:

  • The care and services included in the room rate
  • Ancillary services that are optional and their associated costs
  • The roles and responsibilities of both the home and the resident (or substitute decision-maker)

An appointment with our finance team will be arranged to complete this process and confirm the accommodation rate.

Our Commitment to You

We know that moving into long-term care is a major life transition. We strive to provide a warm, person-centred environment where you are cared for like family. Our team is committed to supporting your comfort, independence, and well-being.

Please note: Four Seasons Lodge has a resident cat. If you or a loved one has a cat allergy, please notify staff in advance so that accommodations can be made.
