Description

Position Summary

The clerical/support worker functions as a member of the Deep River and District Health team to plan, implement and coordinate clerical duties, and support the overall function of the organization.

 

Position Relationships

Functions under the direction of the Manger of Patient Information and Privacy Officer. Frequent contact with clinical staff, management, organization personnel, medical staff, patients, visitors, vendors, and third party payers.

 

Duties: 

  • Act as the primary point of contact for patients and visitors to the Deep River and District Health Campus. Support the flow of visitors and patients by directing them to appropriate areas.
  • Ensure the accuracy of EMR data, including but not limited to verifying demographic information.
  • Manage appointment booking and scheduling.
  • Answer telephone inquiries in a courteous manner providing all information requested in compliance with the Personal Health Information and Protection Act.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely scanning and uploading of information relative to patient care into the appropriate location.
  • Act as backup to the Office Coordinator for the processing of referrals and any related follow-up.
  • Work in conjunction with the Accounts Receivable department to support patient billing, invoicing, accepting payment and updating the EMR as required.
  • Other duties may be assigned and may not be limited to the scope of an individual department.

 

Qualifications: 

  • Completion of a Medical Office Administration Diploma or equivalent.
  • Medical Terminology course preferred.
  • Training and/or experience with EMR and electronic scheduling.
  • Computer literacy and current computer experience and familiarity with basic computer applications (i.e. MS Word, MS Excel) required.
  • Experience in electronic medical records systems preferred.
  • An excellent, compassionate care experience, every time.
  • Relevant healthcare and/or registration experience preferred.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills in dealings with the public required.
  • Ability to work well with others in a team approach, and adapt to changing situations required.
  • Ability to maintain staff, patient and resident confidentiality.
  • Exceptional Attendance required.

Position Summary:

The Physiotherapist provides high-quality, person-centered physiotherapy services across both hospital and long-term care settings. This includes assessment, treatment planning, intervention, education, and documentation for patients and residents with diverse medical, surgical, neurological, and geriatric needs. The Physiotherapist works collaboratively within the interdisciplinary teams to support mobility, rehabilitation, recovery, and quality of life.

 

Position Relationships:

Reports to the Manager of Clinical Services – Long-Term Care and communicates and interacts with the healthcare team including physicians, other staff and managers, students and volunteers.

 

Duties:

  • Examines clients and develops treatment plans to maintain and restore maximum movement and functional ability for clients to enhance optimal quality of life.
  • Adheres to all policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Current registration in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario required.
  • Degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited institution (Bachelor’s or Master’s level).
  • Eligible for membership with the Canadian Physiotherapy Association
  • Current Basic Rescuer (CPR) Certification required.
  • Approved Ontario Assistive Devices Program Authorizer for mobility aids an asset.
  • Experience in hospital and/or long-term care settings an asset.
  • Knowledge of geriatric care principles and interRAI-LTCF or interRAI tools preferred.
  • Proficient in electronic documentation and clinical systems.
