DRDH RESUMING REGULAR SERVICES FOLLOWING END OF SHELTER-IN-PLACE ORDER
Deep River and District Health (DRDH) is resuming regular services following the lifting of Shelter-in-place order issued by Deep River Police as of 2:59 p.m. today, September 10, 2026.
Emergency services and visitation at DRDH have resumed effective today. Ambulatory services, including primary care at the North Renfrew Family Health Team and outpatient services, including laboratory and diagnostic imaging, will resume tomorrow.
DRDH would like to recognize the exceptional response of its Emergency Department team and staff throughout the Health Campus. Teams responded quickly, calmly and professionally to a rapidly evolving situation, activating emergency procedures while ensuring essential patient and resident care continued safely.
DRDH also extends its sincere thanks to the Deep River Police Service, Ontario Provincial Police, paramedics, firefighters and all emergency response personnel and community partners involved in the response.
As a healthcare organization, DRDH has a responsibility to protect the privacy and confidentiality of every person who receives care; therefore, DRDH will not be providing information regarding individual patients, their conditions or the care they received. Questions regarding the circumstances of the incident or the ongoing investigation should be directed to the Deep River Police Service.
Additional safety measures will remain in place at the DRDH Health Campus over the coming days. Today the Main Entrance will remain closed and starting tomorrow, members of the public attending the campus are asked to use the Main Entrance or Emergency Department Entrance only.
DRDH will continue to monitor the situation and work closely with its emergency response partners.
