Get Involved With A Big Community Healthcare Fundraising Project: Get Hands-On Experience And Shape a $2.5M Campaign From The Inside. Be A Community Leader And Grow With Us! The Deep River & District Hospital Foundation is accepting applications until April 30, 2023 for up to three members of the North Renfrew Community to join our Board of Directors. This is a very exciting time to join us! Significant changes are happening at DRDH over the next few years, including the construction of two new facilities and many technology upgrades. This means many opportunities to get involved, learn, and grow. Most significantly, the Foundation is supporting a $2.5M fundraising campaign called Closer To Home for the upcoming 96-bed long-term care home (the new Four Seasons Lodge). This project will greatly impact healthcare in the community, as well as provide fantastic benefits economically and socially. Read more about Closer To Home and what it means by clicking here. The Foundation Board provides leadership, direction, and support for the important task of raising and stewarding funds and social support to help provide excellent patient/resident care at the Deep River & District Health (DRDH) campus. The campus consists of the hospital, the Four Seasons Lodge long-term care home, and the Family Health Team. What Does a Foundation Board Member Do? Supported by a strong administrative team, Board Members participate directly in raising financial and social support for the DRDH campus, as well as developing strategies that help to guide the Community and Fundraising Coordinator and other DRDH staff. Board Members also meet regularly to review new opportunities. These meetings offer a chance to directly influence programs and initiatives that are very visible in the community (for example: the upcoming Deep 50/50 lottery, golf tournaments, craft fairs, community engagement events, and more). What Do We Need From You? - Your talents, skills, and strengths (perhaps you have a background in fundraising, finance, event planning, grant writing, volunteer engagement, social marketing, governance, project planning, making friendships, etc.)
- Your understanding and appreciation of the role that the DRDH campus plays in our community.
- Your connection to a professional and personal network within the DRDH catchment area (which spans from Rapides-des-Joachims and Stonecliffe to Petawawa and Pembroke).
- Your willingness to listen, share, engage, befriend, and be a community leader.
- Your ability to meet for 2 hours once per month during work hours at the Deep River & District Hospital.
- Previous experience as a member of a board is not required.
If you love your community, and you have a passion for achieving something as a team, please consider applying to become a member of the DRDH Foundation Board of Directors. The deadline is April 30, 2023. You can get more information about this opportunity or apply for this volunteer position by emailing James Thompson at foundation@drdh.org or dropping off a cover letter and resume at the DRDH campus at 117 Banting Drive in Deep River. |
