Duties:
- Primary point of contact for patients and
visitors to the Family Health Team.
- Responsible for scheduling patient
appointments for physicians, nurse practitioner and nursing based on
established protocols.
- Responsible for incoming phone calls and
monitoring of general waiting area in compliance with infection control
practices.
- Maintain clinical and administrative filing
system within EMR.
- Issue third party billing invoices, issues
receipts for invoices and documents transactions within the EMR.
- Responsible for scanning all incoming medical
documents into patient charts in Electronic Medical Record.
- Supports and demonstrates the mission, vision
and values of the Organization.
- Other duties may be assigned and may not be
limited to the scope of an individual department.
Qualifications:
- Completion of a Medical Office Administration
Diploma or equivalent.
- Training and/or experience with EMR and
electronic scheduling.
- Medical Terminology course preferred.
- Relevant healthcare and/or registration
experience preferred.
- Computer literacy and current computer
experience and familiarity with basic computer applications (i.e. MS Word, MS
Excel) required.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and
customer service skills in dealings with the public required.
- Ability to work well with others in a team
approach, and adapt to changing situations required.
- Ability to maintain staff, patient and
resident confidentiality.
- Exceptional Attendance required.
- Must agree to adhere to DRDH standards of
behaviour.
