The Deep River and District

Opportunity:
DRDH is currently seeking a
Vice-President of Clinical Services and Chief Nursing Executive to provide
vision, strategy, and collaborative leadership to support clinical leaders and
their teams to provide high-quality services across all clinical programs.
Reporting directly to the President and Chief Executive Officer, the
Vice-President of Clinical Services and Chief Nursing Executive is responsible
for implementing the organization’s strategic plan for patient services in
accordance with the mission, vision, values and strategic direction of the
organization.
The Vice-President of
Clinical Services and Chief Nursing Executive is an innovative, strategic
leader who plays a key role in guiding the organization in a
collaborative, accountable, and aligned quality-focused culture. Committed to
shared decision-making, the Vice-President of Clinical Services and
Chief Nursing Executive enables integration with health care partners and providers
across the continuum of care to advance a collaborative inter-professional
practice environment that maximizes professional scope of practice. As a member
of the Executive Leadership Team, the Vice-President of
Clinical Services and Chief Nursing Executive fulfills a key role in the
areas of quality and risk management, financial and utilization management,
planning, infection control, patient safety, ethics, and professional practice.
The Vice-President of Clinical Services and Chief Nursing Executive
is accountable for fostering an environment in which collaboration is
valued and excellence in clinical care and professional development is promoted
and achieved.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will
possess a Masters’ degree in nursing or other health related discipline, and
professional designation as a Registered Nurse (RN). They will bring a minimum
of ten years of progressive clinical experience, combined with significant
leadership and management experience, ideally within a complex, rural health
care setting. With an extensive and broad clinical
background and knowledge of a wide variety of health care disciplines, they
will possess a successful track record in implementing and evaluating
professional practice models, advancing professional standards, and scope of
practice.
The successful candidate will have a thorough
knowledge and understanding of best practices and standards of practice, as well
as in-depth knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Public
Hospitals Act, the Broader Public sector Accountability Act, and the Excellent Care for All Act. Preference
will be given to candidates with completion designation as a Certified
Healthcare Executive, and recent experience in primary care.
The successful candidate will

understanding of the patients and residents we care for across our
campus of care. They will bring a commitment to clinical excellence, with a
proven ability to implement evidence-based practices and experience leading -

The Town of Deep River is
located along the banks of the beautiful Ottawa River, and offers an
outstanding array of recreational and outdoor activities all year-round. During
summer, the area offers activities such as hiking, canoeing, boating, fishing,
