Kitchissippi Run to Celebrate 100 Years of the Petawawa Research Forest

7-9-2018

The 7th Annual Kitchissippi Run will take place September 30, 2018 starting at the Chalk River Lions Hall. The Kitchissippi Run is a fun event for the whole community, and also a fundraiser for the Deep River and District Hospital Foundation. Funds raised this year will be used towards the purchase of new diagnostic imaging equipment, which is vital for our Hospital.

Participants will get to enjoy the beautiful fall scenery in the Petawawa Research Forest by walking, running or biking with friends and family. Distances include a Full Marathon (42.2 km), a Half Marathon (21.1 km), a 10 km, a 5 km as well as the 2 km Family Fun route. There is even an option to bike the Half or Full Marathon routes. If you are unable to participate yourself, you can pledge a runner through the Race Roster website. There will be amazing prizes for the participants that bring in the largest amount of donations, including Ottawa Senators tickets and a bike.

This year’s event is an extra special one, as it coincides with the Petawawa Research Forest’s 100 year anniversary. There will be so much for the whole family to enjoy at this year’s event, including bouncy castles, yoga for participants, a teddy bear clinic hosted by members of our Canadian Forces, and so much more! If you bring along a teddy that needs a little TLC, it can have a renewed lease on life as well as an official surgical certificate.
