Local Physicians Add Additional Support for Rostered Patients This Weekend

20-3-2020

In an attempt to proactively ensure the public can avoid unnecessary visits to the Emergency Department, our local physicians have put additional support in place for their rostered patients over the weekend.

Prior to seeking care in the Emergency Department this weekend, if you are a rostered patient of a Deep River physician or Nurse Practitioner, you have the option to call 613-401-4694 before presenting to the Emergency Department. Calls can be made beginning Friday, March 20 at 3:00 pm until Monday, March 23 at 8:00 am. After Monday morning, please call your care provider’s office directly if you wish to discuss your health status. Family physician offices remain open for care needs, but please call before visiting your family physician to arrange an appointment.

This phone line is a telephone advisory service for urgent, time-sensitive health matters that is monitored by a physician on-call. There is only ONE line so if the line is busy, please call back and do not leave a message. The phone line is for patients rostered to the following care providers in Deep River:

• Dr. Ben Amor
• Dr. Bushby
• Dr. Corrigan
• Dr. Greenfield
• Dr. Kipp
• Dr. McVey
• Dr. Noulty
• Lauren Haggerty, Nurse Practitioner
• Tina Halloran, Nurse Practitioner

Please do not call this number unless you are a rostered patient of one of the providers listed above.

If you are experiencing a medical emergency, the Emergency Department remains open for emergency care, and 9-1-1 should still be called as appropriate.

The Deep River and District Hospital would like to thank our local physicians for proactively helping to preserve the capacity of our Emergency Department as cases of COVID-19 continue to grow in Ontario. Non-urgent advice about COVID-19 can be obtained by visiting the Renfrew County and District Health Unit’s website by clicking here.
