2 Field Ambulance, a Canadian Armed Forces unit based out of Garrison Petawawa, will be conducting a cooperative disaster response exercise with us on November 7 and 8, 2018. This exercise will foster military and civil cooperation and preparedness. We are approaching the exercise as a learning opportunity and looking to 1) practice our surge capacity, 2) establish our emergency operations center (EOC), and 3) practice our ability to work with external agencies.
During this period you may notice increased military vehicle traffic in the Town of Deep River and military medical personnel operating in and around the organization. This training does involve receiving causalities at the hospital and the setup of field care delivery units at the hospital. The exercise does not involve the use of weapons or pyrotechnics.
Normal patient care and operations will continue throughout the exercise.
